Spring 2007 Meeting Minutes

The TCART spring meeting was held April 18th at the Minneapolis Public Library (Central). Over 30 people attended the event which included a presentation, business meeting, and tour of the library facilities.

The meeting began with a presentation by Dennis Meissner from the Minnesota Historical Society on the "More Product, Less Process" method of archival processing described in his article co-authored with Mark Greene in The American Archivist 68 (2005).

The business meeting agenda included reports by the secretary, treasurer, and newsletter editor. Submissions to the upcoming newsletter are due May 14th and should be directed to Candy Hart (chart@hamline.edu).

Old business focused on a review of proposed replacements for the TCART logo. Members voted on two and selected the new logo. New business included a continued discussion of TCART formalizing its organization as a non profit. A committee for incorporation presented an updated mission statement, proposed articles of incorporation, and organizational by-laws. Membership moved to vote on these documents and all were approved. Additional new business included the election of two officers.

The meeting concluded with two tours. Those present enjoyed a tour of the building followed by an insider's perspective of the MPL special collections.
