TCART Symposium Program
The program for the TCART 25th Anniversary Symposium at the Elmer L. Andersen Library, University of Minnesota on October 30, 2007 is now available.
Symposium and 2007 Fall Meeting Schedule:
12:30 – 1:00 Check in begins
1:00 – 1:25 Welcome and TCART meeting
Attendance to the symposium is free and open to all who are interested in archival topics. Membership is not required. If you have not already registered, the organizers of the symposium ask that you take a moment to sign up in order to assist us in planning for the event.

Charles Rodgers (MHS) will provide a public/state perspective on how the Minnesota State Archives manages and provides access to state hospital records.2:20 – 2:45 Refreshment break
David Klaassen (UMN) will talk about working with social service records and confidentiality especially in relation to adoption records and researchers in an academic setting.
Tony Jahn (Target Corp.) will discuss the management of proprietary records and service in a corporate archives setting.

Shawn Rounds (MHS) will discuss the NHPRC funded project Preserving the Records of the E-Legislature and the management of electronic government records created in XML and opportunities for providing this information via the Web.3:40 – 4:20 Wrap-up panel discussion
Jason Roy (UMN) will talk about the initial phase of capturing University Web sites for preservation through the U of M's institutional repository program, the University Digital Conservancy.
Heather Lawton (MPL) will explain the Libraries movement toward digitization as a solution for the problem of access caused by staffing cuts and shortened hours.
