Minnesota Preservation Project

An announcement from the Minnesota Historical Society and the Midwest Art Conservation Center.

Connecting to Collections / Minnesota!

The Minnesota Historical Society in collaboration with the Midwest Art Conservation Center (MACC) recently received a Connecting to Collections statewide preservation planning grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The goals of the project are to identify collections care needs across Minnesota and to develop a plan to meet them. To accomplish this, the Society and MACC are conducting an electronic survey of the needs in Minnesota’s cultural institutions. In addition, they are convening four meetings of focus groups around the state.

Your help is needed with this important project, and you are urged to get involved!
  • Please complete the survey, which was designed to be easy and fast. The information you provide will show the scope and nature of preservation needs statewide and will guide the efforts of decision-makers and funders.
The long-term goal of the project is to obtain an implementation grant that will assist Minnesota’s institutions in preserving their collections. The best way to guarantee that your needs are represented is to participate now.
