Fall 2006 Meeting Minutes

The TCART spring meeting was held October 25th at the Stearns History Museum, St. Cloud.

The meeting agenda included reports by the secretary and treasurer. A report by the newsletter editor also included a call for submissions to the upcoming newsletter. Deadline for submissions is November 10th and should be directed to Candy Hart (chart@hamline.edu). Old business pertained to the final review of a scholarship award for professional development and updating the TCART logo. New business included a discussion of new initiatives and ways to make TCART more responsive to members. Topics included a new speaker series that would bring in expertise to areas of responsibility that fall outside traditional archival duties, the creation of steering committees with a TCART officer for all new projects, ideas for member resources available on the TCART web site, and a discussion of TCART formalizing its organization with by-laws and incorporation at the state level.

The meeting concluded with two tours. John Decker, Assistant Director & Head of the Archives, gave a tour of the research collections and facilities at Stearns History Museum. David Klingeman, Archivist St. John's Abbey, provided a tour of the St. John's Abbey Sesquicentennial Exhibit on display through October 31st.
